That’s a wrap on “I am That Man”

What’s up world!

Allow me to catch you up on what’s been going on in my world. Over the past 3 months, I’ve been in Hollywood making movies! This first project, I got a call from the homie Frederick asking me to come 2nd AD for him. He was telling me he had a project he was trying to 1st and wanted to see if I could 2nd for him. I was like of course! Its been a couple of years since I last worked in LA, so I jump at the chance to do this even though I really don’t like 2nd AD’ing. I really enjoy being on set a million time more then 2nd’ing.

POSTER-I-Am-That-Man-1

Struggling to come to terms with the break-up of his marriage and his reintegration into civilian life, former Navy SEAL John Beckett contemplates returning to what he knows best, war. When a close friend is brutally murdered in a racially motivated attack, Beckett calls upon his specialized military skills to find the perpetrators and bring them to justice. Has he found a new sense of purpose, or will this be his last mission?

After flying out and meeting the team attached to this project, I really was happy to be involved in this project. Matthew Marsden (Director) and all the Producers were a joy to work with. I’m not saying my first film in LA was horrible but we had a producer steal money and delay the project plus a ton of other problems. So coming to this I was a bit apprehensive but once I met the team, I know this would be the complete opposite. And I was thankful for that.

I wasn’t on set that much for this project. I was mainly in base camp but our wonderful producers took a boat load of pictures. So check out some of the BTS from this project.

That’s a wrap on “My Little Baby”

Excuse the tardiness but I’ve been busy prepping for my next projects that I forgot to blog about the last project I finished at the end of February. It was a fun and very interesting project and I hope the world gets to see it one day.

“My Little Baby” is about Jimmy, a child with extraordinary powers who has just lost his father. On Christmas Day, under the tree, among other gifts, is a pair of walkie-talkie toy. A night like so many walkie talkie starts to emit strange noises, while connecting with a parallel dimension to be met by the deceased father. From then on, Jimmy starts a radio relationship with his dead father. But this incredible touch means that even the mysterious creatures have free access to our world, thus disturbing the tranquility of Jimmy and mother Becky.

That’s a wrap on “Tonight She Comes”

So I just finished up my 3rd feature film in St. Louis, MO this year and I have to say I finished with a bang and a lot of blood. The film is starring Cameisha Cotton, Nathan Eswine, Adam Hartley Breiman, Jenna McDonald, Dal Pelate, Frankie Ray, Brock Russell & Larissa White and directed by Matt Stuertz.

This wasn’t Matt’s first feature film but this was his first feature film where he didn’t do everything by hisself. And I was very impressed with him as a director. He had a learning curve of not having to do everything and use me and the production team so he can just focus on the creative but he said he liked this process a lot better at the end of the day. He has a bright future in this film industry. Once you see this film you will see where I’m coming from.

This was a really fun and crazy project. First we scheduled this movie in 2 parts. On each side of Thanksgiving which was kind of interesting and gave me a break to recover and get back into the madness, then on top of that our actors schedules were all over the place but we found a way to finish this project. It was a lot of hard work but I’m sure it will pay off in the end. One of the good things about having a break in the middle of production is that our Director/Editor Matt, edited everything we shot on the first half of the project and the footage looks incredible.

IMG_6264The team behind this project is starting to become my extended family. I meet Chris, Jay, and the rest of the Lamplight Films crew when I was hired on to the “Grandmother’s Murder Club” project and 3 films later we have already made some plans to possible do more work together in 2016 already. Meeting these guys and girls in St. Louis is what I’ve been looking for since I stopped working with the Asylum crew that I started out with. They are a bunch of like-minded crazy creative individuals that love to make movies. I am really thankful for the chance to meet them and work with them.

Oh and let me give a special shout out to my production team who did a great job. It was Jenn’s first time as a Production Manager and she did a fantastic job. Katie was my 2nd AD for the project and she did great! As well as my PA Nation for the project. Alex, Mellissa and Ryan killed it. They all stepped up big and their hard work was and is appreciated.

Until next time, enjoy pictures and links below.  Don’t forget to smile and #MakeMovies!!!

Grandpa’s Psycho Movie Premier!!

Exciting news everyone! So a film I First AD’d the end of last year recently had a premier in Connecticut. I really wish I could have went up there for the premier to see the film and see the cast and crew but I’m working in another state and just didn’t have enough time. But the show must go on and it did.

A little bit about the film. “Grandpa’s Psycho” is a dark and gritty psychological thriller that explores one small town man’s need to purify the world of sin, one sinner at a time. His medieval and brutal cleansing process directly contradicts the devotion he has for his granddaughter. Tension builds as we discover secrets surrounding the psychotic behavior of this quaint god fearing little town. – Written by Blackhole Films

But let’s rewind back to the beginning. I just realized I haven’t dedicated a full blog about this project yet. I usually don’t post blogs until the movie comes out and since I’ve switched to independent films and not currently working on studio projects, I kind of forget to blog about them when I am allowed too because it’s literally like 2 or 3 years before you see some of my projects I work on.

So anyway, I meet the director Danny LeGare April 2013 on a film now called “Suicide for Beginners” and we’ve kept in contact ever since then and he sent a text and asked if I was busy in two weeks. I happened to be free and two weeks later I was in Connecticut making a movie! And besides it being near freezing temperatures the whole time I was there and my big toe almost falling off because it was so cold, I really had a great time making this movie. Everyone who was attached to this film was fantastic. From the Producer, Director to the PA’s. Everyone one rocked!

It was a wonderful experience and I am proud to announce that the theatrical release of our new feature film starting on June 26th at the Parkade Cinemas in Manchester, CT.  The film will run for 2 weeks. If you are around the area go see and support this film.
