That’s a wrap on “Parallel Chords”

So before I got my network of filmmakers to where it is today, I used to apply for every job on every film job posting site that had Assistant Director in it. In doing so, I landed a job off of http://www.mandy.com in St. Louis, MO for a film called “Grandmother’s Murder Club”. While on set for “GMC” I got offered a job on “No Good Heroes” and while getting off of the plane for “NGH” I got a call to work on “Tonight She Comes”.  That series of events lead me to develop some good relationships with some good people out of St. Louis. So when Jenn called me and asked me was I available literally 2 days after I finish my job in Connecticut (“Followers”), I couldn’t turn the job down.

Parallel Chords (overture) is the true story of a young violinist struggling to assert her individuality amidst the intense pressure of her pianist father and the formidable weight of her own musical ability.

This is my 4th movie with a majority of this crew and I truly enjoy working with them. They are a bunch of hard-working, good spirited individuals that love making movies. And as a 1st Assistant Director, these are the type of people you want to be around for 12+ hours a day if you have too.

“Suicide For Beginners” Official Trailer

I’m back again with another update. This update came a little unexpected but happy that it is here. Working the independent film market, you tend to have wild stories because every situation is so different but also awesome because what I do really isn’t of the norm. But this film “Suicide For Beginners” formerly “Love Letter” has tons of stories but I’ll leave that to my book I just thought of writing when I retire and move to Costa Rica.

We shoot this lovely and odd but entertaining film back in 2013, in Wilmington, NC and it finally came too light in the form of a movie trailer and hopefully you all and myself get to see this film directed by Craig Thieman.

Special shout out to the cast and crew of this film. I made a couple of good friends from this shoot. It was shoot very close to my childhood home Jacksonville, NC and my mom got a chance to come to set a couple of days and see what I do for a living and she blessed the crew with some homemade cakes that they destroyed in world record time! LOL

Be blessed and #MakeMovies!

We have 2 screening times, one on June 16th and one on the 17th at the American Black Film Festival (ABFF) in Miami, FL.

EBAM Poster

ABFF-takes-place-February-2016The American Black Film Festival (ABFF), founded in 1997, is an annual event dedicated to showcasing entertainment content made by and about people of African descent to a worldwide audience. Today it is recognized as the premier pipeline for Black talent in front of and behind the camera. The festival is composed of five action-packed days of films, panels, parties and more…from the star-studded opening night screening to the closing “Best of Festival” Awards Ceremony.

If you are in South Florida and attending the festival, let me know what you think. Check the link above for the schedule. I’m not sure of the actual screening times at the moment. I don’t think I will be down there but I’m due a trip to Miami. Such a beautiful and unique city.
